Are all Arts Markets the same?

Not when it’s one that celebrates the talent of those affected by homelessness. Throw in a few homelessness organisations into the mix for good measure. And don’t forget about the Cafe Art 2016 MY LONDON photo exhibition too.

What do you end up with at the end of the day? A visually impactful row of 12 art pods right in the heart of London’s tourist hot spot – Spitalfields E1, for a full week (12/10 – 18/10/15).

This is Cafe Art’s third Arts Market that is held annually to mark World Homeless Day (10/10) . Every year we occupy 3 of the 12 stalls for the MY LONDON photo exhibition, and give the remaining 9 stalls to a diverse group of creative artists/photographers, not just to provide work experience as a market trader, but to connect homelessness with the general public in a positive and inspiring way!

Thank you so much to the many Londoners and visitors who popped in to say hi, visited the photo exhibition and the art stalls, talked to the artists to hear their stories, bought some beautiful art and our MY LONDON 2016 calendars. If you missed us that week, we have a smaller stall in front of the restaurant, Giraffe, at Spitalfields E1 every Friday to Sunday until Xmas whereby you can pick up a copy of the calendar. They make a perfect and meaningful Christmas present for family, friends and work colleagues Image may be NSFW.

:)

Lastly, many thanks to all the participating artists and homelessness organisations who took part. But last but not least, to the Spitalfields Market Management Team for this unique and special week – many, many thanks from all of us – we couldn’t have done it without your support and believe – that’s the honest truth!!!
