Delegates attending the annual conference (Public Health in a cold climate: Melting hearts and minds with evidence) of the Faculty of Public Health at the Brighton Conference Centre were treated to a special exhibition of beautiful artworks at the pop-up Cafe Art stand.  Not only that, we had one of the artists, Tendekai, painting live over the two days (14th and 15th June 2016) and sharing his talent with the many people who stopped by to chat and view the art.

But if one were to look more closely, you would have also noticed that the ‘official’ Conference photographers were none other than members of our very own Photography Mentoring Group led by Neil Cordell and Mo

Greig from The RPS. This Mentoring Group is opened to past and present winners of the MyLondon photo contest, and many of them have been attending advanced photography workshops, led by Neil, held at our base at Qbic Hotel since last Christmas. And what better way to put theory into practice when David Allen, Mag Connolly and Keith Carter of the FPH not only generously offered us exhibition space, but also this very unique work experience. We can’t thank them and The FPH enough!

Equipped with the digital cameras kindly supplied by Fujifilm (UK) to Cafe Art for free(!), the first day’s proceedings were covered by Ceci and Maciek, with the second day by ROL and Frances. If this is not a great way to build self-esteem and confidence, we don’t know what is!  We are so very proud of all of them, and can’t wait to see the final images.

Many thanks again to The FPH from ALL of us for this amazing opportunity, and The RPS for their continued support ….!
